Enrolment Conditions & Policies
Academic standards, privacy protections, and our commitment to evidence-based tutoring.
Enrolment Agreement
Version 2.6 · Active from 2025
1. Specialist Continuity & Evidence-Based Pedagogy
All sessions are lead-specialist-directed by Dr. Andrew Wotherspoon (PhD) or a designated Senior Tutor. Our framework is strictly anchored in evidence-based methodologies, specifically:
- Active Recall & Spaced Repetition: Moving beyond passive highlighting to force information retrieval at increasing intervals.
- Interleaving: Mixing different topics or problem types within a single session to improve long-term retention.
- Cognitive Load Management: Structuring complex STEM content to match the student's working memory capacity.
2. The Digital Lab & Placement Continuity
Tutorio reserves the right to transition sessions to our high-fidelity Digital Lab format (interactive online sessions) during the lead specialist's professional school placement periods, notably commencing May 11, 2026. This ensures zero disruption to the student's learning trajectory. During these periods:
- Sessions utilize 4K document scanners and Wacom/Kamvas graphics tablets to maintain the clarity of handwritten mathematical and scientific notation.
- Students receive full technical support to ensure a seamless transition from in-person to digital interaction.
3. Fees, Attendance & Emergency Flexibility
- 48-Hour Notice: A minimum of 48 hours' notice is required to reschedule a session without penalty.
- Late Notice & No-Shows: Cancellations within the 48-hour window forfeit the session fee.
- Emergency Grace Period: We recognize that genuine emergencies (e.g., acute illness or family crisis) occur. In such instances, a one-time "compassionate credit" may be issued at the Firm's discretion for a make-up session, provided a medical certificate or relevant documentation is supplied.
Privacy & Data Standards
1. Security & Financial Integrity
We operate in line with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). Card payments are processed securely by Stripe through our Teachworks billing system. We do not store full card numbers on our own systems; payment details are handled directly by Stripe's PCI-compliant infrastructure rather than by Tutorio staff.
2. Data Retention
Academic data is retained for the duration of the student's enrolment plus two academic years to assist with long-term tracking and university references, after which it is securely purged.
3. Breach Notification
In the unlikely event of a data breach that is likely to result in serious harm, Tutorio will assess the incident and, where an eligible data breach is confirmed, notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) as soon as practicable, in line with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme under the Privacy Act 1988. We will tell affected individuals what happened, what information was involved, and the steps they can take in response.
4. Academic Data Use
Personal and academic data is collected solely to personalize pedagogy. Success metrics (e.g., score improvements) may be used in Lab Notes for de-identified case studies unless otherwise requested.
Your privacy rights: You may withdraw consent for marketing use at any time by contacting andrew.wotherspoon@tutorio.com.au. Tutorio does not sell or trade personal data to third parties.

Purpose and Usage
Tutorio Tutoring uses cookies and similar technologies to keep your secure session working, remember your preferences during academic consultations, and enable our Zoho SalesIQ live chat support. These technical markers help maintain the integrity of our interactive tutoring environment.
Management of Preferences
Our consent banner lets you manage your cookie preferences on entry to the site. Essential cookies are required for core website functionality and secure billing (processed via Teachworks and Stripe), while non-essential tracking can be disabled via your browser settings. Please note that restricting all cookies may impact the performance of real-time collaborative tools used during our specialist-led sessions.
The Tutorio Quality Guarantee
While external grades depend on student application, we guarantee:
- Evidence-Based Standards: Lessons integrate Active Recall, Spaced Repetition, and Cognitive Load Management.
- High-Fidelity Digital Tools: Use of 4K document scanners and graphics tablets for superior clarity of mathematical and scientific notation.
- Strategic Oversight: Termly progress reviews and curriculum mapping led by a PhD-qualified specialist.
If you believe a session has failed to integrate our core evidence-based standards (Active Recall, Spaced Repetition, or High-Fidelity Digital Tools), we commit to a complimentary strategy consultation to realign the learning plan. This guarantee reflects our commitment to a Scholar-Practitioner standard of service rather than a generic tutoring model. Reach us at andrew.wotherspoon@tutorio.com.au.
